SoulHAUS Spring Break is an immersive creative wellness experience designed specifically for artists, creatives, and connected communities in the Midlands of South Carolina.

Taking place at SoulHAUS Gallery in Columbia’s premier cultural arts district, this innovative series will transform a contemporary art space into a sanctuary for creative rest, renewal, and community building.

Join us for a special edition of Third Thursdays in The Vista, with a spring equinox kick-off for SoulHAUS Spring Break!


Come meet leadership from co-organizers—Preach Jacobs of SoulHAUS, Jessica E. Boyd from Dreamseed, and Anita Garrett of The reLeaf Collective.


We’ll also engage in an exclusive, in-depth Artist Talk on creative wellness with featured gallery artist Lauren Andreu.

DROP-IN DAY

Join us at SoulHAUS for a day of immersive, drop-in creative wellness sessions led by local artists and creatives. In just 30-60 minutes, expand your imagination, connect more deeply with yourself and others, and reset for the spring season.

10:00 aM - 10:30 AM

  • Join artist Ija Monet for a guided neurographic art session, a creative technique that nurtures confidence and imagination. Inspired by childhood memories, Ija will lead a spring-themed exploration of fluid lines and organic shapes, encouraging intuitive expression and mindfulness through art. No experience needed—just bring your creativity!

11:00 aM - 11:30 aM

  • Step into the 'ring' with The Sweet Science, a 30-minute boxing basics session that transforms physical movement into creative expression. Learn fundamental punches, footwork, and defensive moves while exploring the playful rhythm and flow of this dynamic art form. This high-energy session invites you to connect with your body in new ways, releasing creative energy through deliberate movement patterns. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and get ready to discover how boxing can refresh both body and mind!

12:00 pM - 1:00 PM

  • Following the pandemic and our growing attachment to digital platforms, some may say connection is a lost art form. We often find ourselves feeling alone in a crowded room or self-conscious to the point of anxiety. Using the principles and techniques of partner dance, we'll find our way back to greater ease and comfort with human connection. No dance experience necessary.

1:30 pM - 2:30 PM

  • Transform beach treasures into natural art in this immersive workshop. Discover the hidden potential in each unique piece of driftwood as you're guided through visualization techniques and hands-on creation. Learn to craft elegant flower sculptures using nature's discarded canvas in this meditative, creative experience.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

3:30 PM - 4:00 PM

  • Join Liberation is Lit for a vibrant read-in and book sale with powerful stories by BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled writers. Discover new perspectives, engage with the community, and support authors whose stories inspire change. A perfect event for book lovers seeking empowering literature.

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM

  • Immerse yourself in the rhythmic fusion of music and visual art as you transform vinyl records into stunning canvases with mixed media visual artist Thomas Washington and DJ Preach Jacobs. This session blends mindful creativity with musical inspiration, guiding you to express through color and pattern while classic albums spin. Create personalized art that captures sound in visual form.

6:00 PM - 6:30 PM

  • Rejuvenate your body and mind with a pop-up restorative yoga practice, integrating gentle movement & guided breathwork. Leave equipped with practical grounding tools that cultivate balance for a focused and revitalized you. Come as you are, along with a yoga mat & any comfort items you like – blanket, eye mask, etc.

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

  • Join new author Zakiya Mickle for an intimate Writer Talk on the journey behind Cotton Candy Skies. Through storytelling, poetry, and reflection, explore what it means to unravel in order to become. Expect a soulful reading, an interactive reframing exercise, and space for meaningful conversation. Come as you are and settle in.

  • Join founder Courtney Young for the official launch of Peace Love Plants, a plant concierge business for nurturing spaces and mental wellbeing across the Midlands. Immerse yourself in greenery and discover how Peace Love Plants is cultivating community through plants. Learn about plant concierge services, educational workshops, and the healing power of plant medicine.

6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

  • Celebrate the culmination of three transformative days at our vibrant Pop-up Art Market. Discover new-to-you, unique creations from talented makers, while learning more about the vision of The reLeaf Collective, a future 29-acre woodland sanctuary for artists in South Carolina's Midlands.
